Role Summary:
Machine Shop Production Supervisors direct activities within the operations team as it relates to production, inventory management, and quality. These highly motivated individuals ensure efficient production while promoting and working safely within established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Basic knowledge of CNC programming.
Knowledge of operating manual lathes, milling machines, vertical borers and horizontal borers.
Statistical control of the process.
Production planning in different work centres.
Management of KPIs (utilization, efficiency, productivity, scrap, rework).
Analysis for the solution of problems in lean manufacturing.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools (AMEF, VSM, 6's, SMED, etc).
Troubleshooting and aiding of job set up and machine allocation.
Other duties as assigned
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Verbal Communication – Uses clear and effective verbal communication skills to express ideas and request actions.
Planning and Organizing – Works with guidance to plan, organize, and prioritize activities to efficiently meet business objectives .
Health and Safety - Applies elementary concepts to manage and apply safe systems of work.
Equipment Experience – 5+ years machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment operating manual lathes, manual vertical borers, manual horizontal borers, milling machines, or CNC lathes/mills.
HS Diploma / GED and 3-5 years relevant experience
Experience with ISO-9000-14000
