Role Summary:

The Field Service Team installs, commissions, troubleshoots and repairs Flowserve’s pumps and equipment for our customers in industries such as oil and gas, chemical, nuclear, coal, and wastewater industries. This position requires a field service supervisor who can manage day to day operations of the field service team as demanded by the clients and in line with the business processes. The supervisor will also be responsible for the health of the business by ensuring that Flowserve’s six core values are actively driven to the highest standard within the team.

Responsibilities:

  • To lead a culture of ongoing development for yourself and individuals within the team. Ensure we have trained Field Service Technicians to support all specialty equipment and develop the training plans for all of them. Make sure that the expertise/qualification levels of our FSTs are well balanced and are adequate for the installed base and services to be provided.

  • To recruit and retain a global and diverse workforce for the present and future, ensuring the Succession plans are in place for the critical roles within the team.

  • Actively support a positive SHEA culture to reduce lost time injuries and recordable accident frequency rate and maintain a safe hazard free work environment. Support the FST on the JSEA Completion, identify with them the potential hazards at site, and ensure these details are timely shared with the Onsite Services SHEA Manager.

  • Provide first line of supervision to the Field Service Technicians to manage daily priorities. Review and sign off the Field Service Reports prepared by the Field Service Technicians and ensure that they continue identifying pump/seal upgrade opportunities.

  • Demand the Sales/Commercial Operations Team the timely update of all the opportunities on the radar/local market thru Flowforce and AMP. Review with the FST Coordinator, the team availability and competencies to handle the product mix installed in the assigned region.

  • Complete Field Service Aftermarket Portal (AMP) scheduling actions as defined within field service process and ensure that field service technicians are able to execute their work instructions. Together with the Field Service Coordinator, validate that the quotations prepared by the ComOps Team are technically sound and are aligned with customer expectations.

  • Process and Technology. Ensure that the Field Service Technicians are trained and held accountable for using the standard Field Service operational procedures, forms and systems.

  • Ensure that a tool calibration program is in place and ensure that the Field Service Team has all the required tools to perform the Field Service activities. Support the Field Service Manager on developing the right Capital Plans to acquire new tools to perform the Field Service activities.

  • Meet, together with the Sales Team, the targeted accounts on the assigned region. Show to the key customers our current capabilities, the ones we plan to develop, and how the support provided during the last quarter/year has helped them on achieving their objectives (it might be reducing their maintenance spend, increasing the asset performance, reducing the Total Cost of Ownership, etc..).

  • Discuss with the FST the potential upgrades that might be applicable on the assets that they are servicing, and ensure that our FST proactively detects them during their missions. Measure our success on capturing PT Business in each service job.

  • Drive down the job close out cycle time, ensure quick invoicing and collection of receivables as a contributor to the Primary Working Capital Optimization. Analyze, review and escalate any potential problematic / Low Cost Margin job to the Onsite Services Director / Sales Leadership.

  • Work together with the FST Coordinator on preparing the financial and utilization forecast.

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must have relevant academic qualifications. Eg College certificate/diploma Five+ years of experience in mechanical field service required.

  • Skilled and knowledgeable in the removal, repair, and installation of single stage and multistage pumps, and in the operational conditions and performance of rotating equipment required.

  • Experience in the chemical, power, and/or oil and gas industries strongly preferred.

  • Supervisory or other leadership experience that demonstrates an ability to lead, motivate, and develop others, highly preferred.

  • Ability to develop and sustain a vision of technical excellence and customer service that is shared by the entire team.

  • Must have a collaborative style that encourages the free flow of communication, removes obstacles, and promotes problem solving and teamwork.

  • Able to remain calm and even tempered in the face of challenges, demands, and deadlines.

  • Communicates effectively, orally or in writing, conveying difficult messages when required to do so.

  • Can lead a team to meet deadlines whilst maintaining the required standards.

  • Takes responsibility for own personal development at work and motivates direct reports to do the same.

  • Able to coach and support the development of colleagues.

  • Demonstrates initiative with a problem-solving approach and can-do attitude.

  • Experience in project planning for complex jobs or events highly valued.

  • Capable in Outlook, Word and Excel and other IT systems/processes.

  • Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics.

  • Must be able to travel 50% of the time with overnight stays as required.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

  • BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 5-7 years relevant experience
