As an Order Engineer at Flowserve for the ARGUS brand, you will experience the world of ball valves. ARGUS is the well-known name worldwide when it comes to ball valves for special applications. We, an experienced, international, and motivated team are already looking forward to meeting you.

Key responsibilities

  • Performs work that is varied and complex, under minimal supervision. Consistently applies knowledge of functional concepts and prior experience to work assignments.

  • Drive a culture based on customer focus, ethics, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement and safety.

  • Foster cooperation between Global Engineering and Business Unit personnel with respect to the development of new products and/or services.

  • Ensure product safety and regulatory compliance through implementation of rigorous design control procedures and protocols.

  • Through adherence to engineering standards and processes, ensure quality, reliability, and market competitiveness in all product designs and their application.

  • Act as an effective change agent, driving adoption and long-term acceptance of target engineering transformations based on strategy, practices, procedures, and systems.

  • Drive standardization of products and technical content.

  • Prepare technical documentation and reports of appropriate depth and detail to document design operational requirements, product design development, and laboratory and field-testing programs.

  • Maintain broad mechanical engineering skills and knowledge of state-of-the-art technical and industry trends through review of technical publications, participation in technical conferences, interfacing with external technical resources, and participation in internal and external training opportunities.

  • When called upon for subject matter expertise, partner with Operations, Sales, Quality Assurance, and other stakeholders as necessary to provide customer centric and highly responsive support to resolve product performance issues in the field.

  • Deliver clear and complete drawings/analysis reports/documentation/part list/engineering solutions, as per the deliverables of the assignment, ensuring On-time delivery and quality. Timely update the customer/business unit on schedule and effort variances, if any.

  • Provide able guidance to associate/temporary staff to perform their task. Perform part list creation for spare or retrofit orders and complete part list creation against sale orders. Provide engineering solution to Application/Sales engineers.

Expectations:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 2 to 3 years of Valve or related industry design experience

  • Strong analytical, problem solving with a demonstrated ability to apply technology to creatively solve problems and meet business needs

  • Proficient in CAD design and drafting in any of the 3D CAD software

  • Detailed knowledge of engineering product and design principles

  • Knowledge of ASME / API/ DIN design standards and material specifications

  • Detailed knowledge of design of Valves or related piping equipment’s

  • Good knowledge of MS Office and SAP

  • Proven ability to adapt to changing organizational environment and business needs

  • Demonstrated ability to work with geographically dispersed teams with culturally diverse membership

  • Good communication skills

  • Creative thinker, vibrant, good team player

  • See multiple aspects and inter dependency of components during Design changes

  • Evaluate work, sets priorities, and quickly focuses on most critical needs.

Preferred experience/skills:

  • Solidworks software knowledge

  • SAP and Windchill knowledge

  • Experience in ball valves/ severe service trims

  • Experience in pressure equipment design

  • Experience with BOM management

  • Intermediate German Language
