Role Summary:

This position is responsible for Designing Instrumentation Documents like P&I drawings, Instrument wiring diagrams, Hook-ups, selection of instrument components & controls, junction boxes and drives for various Flowserve Projects as per contract against specific customer order. This position will require working on multiple projects and Engineering assignments. Individual is required to coordinate with business unit engineers to ensure overall quality and on-time delivery of customer submittals.

Responsibilities:

  • To understand and revise various instrumentation documents like P&ID’s, Wirings, and other basic documents using Autodesk products/software and Microsoft tools.

  • Work with the team in selection of instruments & electrical Equipment like transmitters, gauges, valves, Analog / Digital devices, switches, drivers and controls.

  • Experience in reviewing various standards, creating specification reviews, design the systems related to electrical and instrumentation based on project requirements.

  • To Understand and work on cable schedules, junction box layouts for various projects related instrumentation.

  • Knowledgeable in creation of Wiring diagrams, hook-ups, junction box layouts, logic diagrams and gauge board drawings in AutoCAD

  • Knowledgeable in working on Instrument datasheets, Instrument Lists, IO Lists, C&E charts, control philosophy and indexes in Microsoft tools.

  • Working Experience on Smap 3D for P&IDs would be an added advantage.

  • Partners with Supervisors to achieve Flowserve goals and objectives.

  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the field of Engineering and Design. Recommend innovative solutions when applications are feasible to improve throughput and quality.

  • Understands and supports all Company objectives and performs duties delegated by management.

  • Enforces safety rules by ensuring that tooling, fixtures, and processes meet all applicable OSHA regulations.

  • Enforces Flowserve's environmental policies by ensuring that processes meet all applicable environmental regulations. Subcontractors are made aware of Flowserve's applicable environmental policies and are managed to these policies.

  • Demonstrates the ability and willingness to be a team player.

  • Treat all customers and fellow employees with respect.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Understands and supports all Company objectives and performs duties delegated by management.

Requirement:

  • Graduate with min 3-5 years of experience or Diploma with min 6-7 years of experience in Instrumentation Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering with knowledge of Instrumentation/Electrical engineering preferably from pump / rotary equipment Industry.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must. Knowledge on Smap 3D, Solid works, is an added advantage.

  • Good work experience of designing P&ID’s, wiring diagrams, Instrument datasheets, Instrument lists is mandatory. Working knowledge on Control documents such as Control Narrative, C&E, Logic diagrams would be preferred.

  • Basic understanding of selecting various transmitters, gauges & switches (Pressure, Level, Temperature, and Flow), Vibration sensors, Monitoring systems understanding the customer requirements.

  • Good knowledge of field instruments, Utility, and electricals with Installation knowledge.

  • Proven track record of leading and driving cost reductions in Engineering and Design utilizing Continuous Improvement Methodologies.

  • Experience in a Design and Engineering environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, engineering drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.

  • Ability to write routine and technical correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong fundamentals of Instrumentation, Electrical, and Electronics Engineering.

  • Awareness of International standards related to Electrical & Instrumentation (ASME, ANSI, API, ISA, IEC).

  • Excellent analytical, creative, and Interpersonal skills.

  • A high level of self-motivation, flexibility, and self-learning aptitude.

  • Good team player and able to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities.
