Primary Function:

Performs assembly and disassembly of seals based on standard operating procedures including compliance testing.

Major Accountabilities:

Responsible for maintaining safe workplace and comply with Flowserve applicable Safety, Health and Environment standards, policy, rules and procedures. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and obey all safety requirements. Report safety incidents, unsafe conditions and /or potential hazards. Ensure proper housekeeping is done within the workstation and use tools and equipment safety. Assist to dismantle, clean, repair and assemble of mechanical seals based on Standard Operating Procedure or routine assembly and dismantling practices. Assist with machine set up, operate machine tools under supervision of technician or supervisor. Requires the ability use of hand tools which may include various wrenches (manual, electric or air), torque wrenches, hoists, scissor tables and Mechanical Seal testing equipment to ensure product meets quality requirements. Assist to perform equipment change-over if required to assemble or dismantle mechanical seals for testing. Assist mechanical seals quality making adjustments as necessary to produce product within specifications. Reject product outside of specifications. Complete daily repair activity reports and mechanical seals specifications logs as required by the supervisor. Support/Assist to perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on workshop equipment/machinery. Clean and maintain work area and turn off and lock out equipment when not in use. Participate and contribute to process improvements activities within the facility. Support/Assist the periodical inventory count activities. Ensure dispatch items are packed to correct standard for ultimate destination and that dispatch paperwork is correct. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Additional Responsibilities:

Check incoming repair items and ensure that correct drawings and references are available for the inspection. Ensure that worksheets and goods are available to allow inspection of repair items in a timely manner. Participate in the Pure Safety Trainings program. Pull material from warehouse or storage racks to complete seal repairs. Perform back-up for workshop activities.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

Basic English speaking, reading, writing is a plus. Arithmetic skills required. Preferably Technical School degree or student. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers. Ability to lift up to 20kg required. Use of PPE’s (Personal Protecting Equipment) required.
