Pump Disassembly Mechanic / Customer Product Repair Mechanic - Level 2
Flowserve is looking for a second shift (2:30pm to 11:00pm) experienced mechanic to work on all processes related to disassembly, cleaning, and inspection of high energy industrial pumps and decoking equipment in a rapid-response, "quick ship" environment. Reading and accurately following all work instructions, checklists, engineering drawings and blueprints during all processes at our air-conditioned, clean, and well-organized Quick Response Center in West Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Skilled in blueprint reading and GD&T.
Skilled in using precision measuring instruments, such as Micrometers, Verniers, Bore Gauges, Dial Indicators, Height Gauges, and Depth Gauges. With the ability to measure critical dimensions and runouts within 0.0001” accuracy.
Skilled in using hand tools, air impact wrenches, hydraulic jacks, pressure washers, solvent tanks, sandblasters, forklifts, and cranes.
Reliable and dependable work ethic with a personal commitment to safety for oneself as well as others, quality workmanship, including proper housekeeping and encouraging collaboration, team building, decision-making, problem solving, and continuous improvements.
Must be able to work overtime and weekends on short notice to achieve company production and on-time delivery objectives. Standing for long times, full range of movement, and frequent lifting with occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Prior knowledge of after-market repair, service of mechanical equipment, rotating equipment, industrial equipment, pump installation, commissioning and start up, operation, or maintenance.
Knowledge of non-destructive Liquid Dye Penetrant examination experience.
Welding and/or manual machining experience.
Ability to assist with dynamic balance, hydrostatic test, mechanical seal air test, and re-assembly of engineered and industrial pump products.
