Flowserve Control Valves GmbH, formerly Schmidt Armaturen, based in Villach / Carinthia, the southernmost province of Austria, supplies more than 10,000 control valves every year. High-quality control valves are developed and produced at our Villach Plant. These control valve systems are mainly used in process engineering applications such as in the chemical, petrochemical, refinery, oil & gas, power plants, process industry as well as in the energy sector and water management. The number of employees has increased considerably in recent years. There are currently more than 250 employees, 50% of whom work in production and the other 50% in sales, project management, technology, development, purchasing, quality assurance, finance, and human resources.

Entry opportunity as "Application Engineer" (M/F/T)

For our valve plant in Villach, we are looking for a qualified employee who we would like to develop into an "Application Engineer" (M/F/T).

After you have completed our internal training as an "Application Engineer", you will take on responsibility for your own area after around 6 months and work closely with our sales force. We are a young, dynamic team and are looking for an charismatic, communicative and passionate employee (m/f/t) who is also resilient and willing to contribute to the success of the company. Your area of ​​responsibility:

In this challenging position you are responsible for the technical and commercial preparation of offers and are a competent contact person for our customers. You act as a link between the sales force, customers, engineering, purchasing, materials management, and production.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include

• Technical and commercial preparation of quotations using and following current process descriptions and instructions.

• Review of technical specifications in collaboration with other departments

• Customer support and related internal and external communication

• Clear and clean handover of the ordered quotes in compliance with the specified guidelines

• Active participation in improving our quality standards

Requirements:

• Sound technical training, preferably in the field of mechanical engineering (HTL / FH / UNI)

• Commercial knowledge or commercial understanding

• Professional experience would be an advantage

• Very good written and spoken English and German (business communication) skills

• Confident handling of the MS Office package

• Communicative personality and professional, customer-oriented handling of internal and external customers

• Organizational talent, assertiveness, goal orientation

• Independent and structured way of working

• Resilient and success-oriented

• Willingness to travel (approx. 10%)

The salary for this position depends on your education and experience.

Required information pursuant to section 9 of the Austrian Treatment Act (GleichbehandlungsG): Minimum yearly gross remuneration as per collective agreement from € 41.390,02 p.a. upwards – overpayment depending on qualifications and professional experience.
