Role Summary:

The Test Engineer plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of test setup, pump testing, data acquisition and test reports preparation, facilitating efficient operations across the test floor. Participates in and maintains improvement projects to enhance safety, improves quality, reduce the cost of nonconformance, adopts lean principles and processes, and promotes customer satisfaction (internal and external).

Responsibilities:
Partners with Test Assembly team and other resources to achieve Flowserve goals and objectives.
Active member of the test team, ensuring customer requirements are met through testing process
Executes performance tests of pumps as well as complete units
Provides guidance to all (operational) activities related to the physical testing of centrifugal pumps and complete unit tests and assess (hydraulic) performance and mechanical behavior (vibrations, temperature, sound)
Evaluates technical specifications to establishes hydraulic testing requirements (such as capacity, head and power) and issue Test Procedures
Evaluates of test results and issues a Test Report with clear conclusions
Prepares testing proposals for financial evaluation
Defines system and instrumentation requirements for hydraulic performance and vibration testing
Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements
Conducts troubleshooting on test equipment minimizing delays in production schedules.
Keeps abreast of new developments in the Data Acquisition and performance testing methods. Recommend innovative solutions when applications are feasible to improve throughput and quality.
Understands and supports all Company objectives and performs duties delegated by management.
Enforces safety rules by ensuring that tooling, fixtures, and process meet all applicable OSHA regulations.
Enforces Flowserve's environmental policies by ensuring that processes meet all applicable environmental regulations. Subcontractors are made aware of Flowserve's applicable environmental policies and are managed to these policies.
Demonstrates the ability and willingness to be a team player.
Treats all customers and fellow employees with respect.
Requirements:
BS or BA Degree in relevant field and at 3-5 years relevant experience
Ability to read component prints and routers
Working knowledge of performance testing
Strong mechanical aptitude
Working knowledge of Minitab, Labview or other data acquisition systems
Understanding of pump performance measurements
Understanding of vibration measurement principals
Experience interpreting a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, engineering drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
Ability to write routine and technical correspondence.
The pay range for this position is $84,916.00 - $127,433.00 annually.
