Role Summary:

This role supports the order acquisition and fulfillment process for the Flowserve business units and can be located at the manufacturing site. An Order Engineer is responsible for providing the most accurate and thorough engineering data for customer requests and orders (e.g., General Arrangement drawings, Bills of Materials, etc.) in alignment with Flowserve standards and

customer requested specifications. This position is vital to ensure customer requests and orders are processed to meet or exceed quality standards and established lead-times, and processed in the most efficient manner with a high level of quality. Additional responsibilities include supporting functional teams, routine engineering analysis, detailed layout/mechanical design, and operations support (i.e. manufacturing, supply chain, quality, warranty). The incumbent reports to the Order Engineering supervisor or Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Support proposal activities include conducting pre-engineering work, to determine technical scope, engineering labor, risk analysis and/or make equipment selection outside of eCPQ

  • Take initiative for individual tasks assigned by immediate supervisor.

  • Coordinate with internal and external parties on the product and order issues and provide the supports accordingly.

  • Continue to improve areas in engineering role as to reduce projects delivery lead time, standardization in engineering design and project cost saving.

  • Timely upload & update technical documents and drawings on specified documents system, manage own product and project documents in specified place without disclosing to any third party.

  • Root cause analysis and solution proposal for issues base on the consideration of safety, quality, productivity, cost and shipment on time.

Prepare for on-time and high accuracy’s order documents and drawings, including customer submittal documents, supplier documents review and fabrication documents or drawings. Ensure customer satisfaction, and provide rework or resubmittal documentation in agreed-upon cycles to obtain approvals.

  • Select components and assemblies to ensure compliance with project specifications, including mechanical seals, seal auxiliary systems, drivers and other specified components. And develop completed bill of materials and other technical documentation for all “build-to-order” and “configure-to-order” products as required to release order to procurement and production.

Support production by providing tactical advice and guidance on specification deviations and waivers and other activities where required.

  • Review and clarify customer complete technical specification, and raise deviations and suggest modifications where required. Perform detailed layout and mechanical design including conducting routine engineering analysis, design calculation and simulation.

  • Localize new products or key parts and serve as key contact person of all technical issues in terms of technical documents, production processes and customer service etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Postgraduate Degree in fluid or gas dynamics or mechanical automation Engineering.

  • Engineering degree or equivalent and/or 3+ years related experience in API 610 Engineered pump products and its packaging design.

  • Good knowledge in centrifugal pump / valve / mechanical seal & system /motor/instruments etc. Common pump packaging components related.

  • Computer-Assisted Design/3-Dimensional design, Good skill on usual office software and AutoCAD (2D or 3D Plot software.

  • Understanding of engineering documentation, drafting, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

  • Collaborative interpersonal skills.

  • Advanced project management tools, methods and applications.

  • Accountability and execution for completing work timely and to specifications.

  • Basic knowledge of information technology tools including Windows, Microsoft Office products and other related tools.

  • Knowledge of analysis tools.

  • Basic fluency in the English language.

  • Proficient with Oracle/SAP system use and related item/BOM entry tools, familiar with the Engineering BOM and customize products.

  • Excellent knowledge in manufacture, parts and components drawing design, BOM preparation.

  • Excellent skills of root cause analysis, pump performance review and judgement.

  • Excellent interpersonal skill, project management and CIP sense.
