Role Summary: The Process Engineer is responsible for improved efficiency and utilization, cost reduction, and capital investment for both functional and transactional processes. This role will promote a safe work environment by focusing on improvements that will enhance the safety and wellbeing of our employees while driving increased throughput and reduced quality errors. The Process Engineer will participate in our Operational Excellence (OPEX) programs and assist in the evaluation, analysis and improvement of processes throughout the facility. Strong emphasis will be on data driven process improvements in the machining and assembly areas to reduce costs and improve productivity. This role comes with high visibility from site leadership and support to make the facility best in class in manufacturing. Minimal travel <10% will be required for training, shared knowledge experiences and cross functional projects.
Work hours: Monday to Friday from 7 am to 4 pm.
Location: Springville, UT.
Responsibilities:
Actively support the development of a vibrant Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) culture across the site by supporting 6S practices. Support the growth of HSE programs, execute improvement activities, and facilitate cultural change to drive achievement of all HSE objectives.
Evaluate production processes to determine best practices and areas for improvement to be actioned with support of the production and operations teams.
Identify process bottlenecks and actions solutions to resolve.
Participate in PFMEA and DFMEA
Determine CAPEX projects and manage multi-functional teams to implement improvements on time and within budget.
Lead site-wide efforts to improve productivity while driving process and product defects out of the daily work activities and deliverables.
Improve Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and engagement in collaboration with the Quality Team.
Standardization of processes throughout the facility, working with supervisors and managers to ensure standardized processes are well documented.
Utilize waste elimination techniques and automation methodologies where appropriate to improve productivity
Coordinate Management of Change (MOC) processes throughout the facility
Support equipment validation and product qualification processes
Use OPEX principles and tools to continually analyze and improve all internal processes and controls to drive waste out of the system, shorten order shipment lead-times, and deliver greater value to customers.
Design and implement solutions for increased throughput
Work with process owners on proper documentation and standard work
Manage use of equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and utilization

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering or Quality Engineering.
Strong root cause problem solving and analytical skills according the DMAIC, PDCA, with demonstrated ability to make critical decisions and sustainable improvements.
Project Management experience, with demonstrated ability to lead through implied ownership
Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and public speaking)
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with ability to listen, understand and lead others.
Demonstrated ability to motivate, inspire teamwork, and to consistently acknowledge contributions by others.
Lean/CIP/Green Belt/Black Belt/Six Sigma Manufacturing Experience
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience in CNC machining environment
Expose to Engineered Product / Engineer to Order Business
PLC / HMI / Process Control Automation Experience
General Mechatronics Experience
Value Stream Mapping / Supply Chain Management
