Job Summary:

In this role you will be leading R&D projects to test, benchmark and improve the Flowserve Logix series digital smart valve control systems. Engineering expertise will be required to evaluate the performance of current products and facilitate a design, build & test program to maintain our status as one of the market leaders in valve products.

The Electrical Engineer works alongside an existing team of engineers locally, supporting R&D work carried out by the team. In addition, this position will provide support to the local manufacturing and assembly teams by helping to solve issues with new product development and existing products.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in circuit design and troubleshooting of Logix products and the systems used to test them. This includes but is not limited to ICT (In-Circuit Test), FT (board level Functional Test), ESS (Environmental Stress Screening), and HALT (Highly accelerated Lifecycle Test).

  • Provide electromechanical expertise to site teams and customers supporting system integrations of electrical and mechanical components

  • Support the R&D lab which includes stock of test products, working processes and procedures

  • You will be given the opportunity to use your own experience and expertise to help develop internal testing capabilities and processes, including design of tests and experiments, physical testing, analysis of results and summary reports

  • Help solve issues with products in the field by investigating the root cause and providing written summary reports which will be issued both internally and to the end user

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related Engineering field

  • 1+ years of experience

  • Previous engineering experience in an R&D capacity

  • Proficiency in writing engineering/test reports to convey testing methods and conclusions

  • Solid understanding in design of experiments (DoE)

  • Root cause analysis & problem-solving experience

  • Experience in developing testing programs to meet customer or industry specifications

  • Proficiency in reading detailed engineering drawings

  • Numerical simulation expertise – FEA (linear, non-linear, static & dynamic)

Preferred:

-Proficiency using Circuit Design and PCB design software i.e. Altium, Cadence, Autodesk, NI Multisim or others, preferred

  • Proficiency in software development i.e. NI LabView, Arduino, C, JavaScript, Python, SQL, preferred

-Proficiency using 2D and 3D CAD packages i.e. SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor or others, preferred

  • Experience designing valves or pressure vessels including industry recognized design codes & calculation methods, preferred
