The candidate will provide engineering & technical support to all QRCs for manufacturing of pump parts or any mechanical components in APAC region. Responsible for technical interpretation of the part specifications, manufacturing procedures and policies, and the component quality.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Implement engineering best practices and Flowserve standards; review the new specifications and standards; and identify gaps in the design/ manufacturing process
Participate in the reverse engineering, design, review, and release of the mechanical components and assemblies. Review component design for accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability
Utilize the latest metrology technology (e.g. laser scanning) to acquire the geometrical data of the mechanical components and process these information into the 3D model and design drawings required for manufacturing and assembly
Work with the oversea Global Technology & Engineering Center, Central Engineering Group, or Business Unit Engineering on the part engineering matter, 3D modelling and BOM creation
Work with the regional scanning technician/ engineers to improve the current methodology/ processes, perform dimensional investigations, and develop new methods for unique measurement challenges
Work with the supplier/ foundry to improve the part manufacturing processes and procedures which meet Flowserve and customer requirements
Provide day-to-day support on the component quality concerns and develop short/ long term countermeasure to quality problems while maintaining operation & cost efficiency
Analyze and break down the dimensional data to identify the source of problems (design, assembly, tooling, supplier, etc.)
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Experience in 3D modelling & CAD design software e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Geomagic Design X, Geomagic Wrap
Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and make correction if needed
Demonstrated understanding of general mechanical design principles, including Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Knowledge of general measurement tools and accuracy. Experience in metrology or laser scanning technology (CMM, Faro, 3D scanner) is a plus.
General understanding of the component manufacturing and assembly process is a plus.
