Role Summary:

The Inventory Control Clerk ensures that production materials, including raw material and finished goods, are available to meet production schedules. Is the liaison between Flowserve and our customers to coordinate parts, repairs, and manufacturing for mechanical seals and systems used at the facility. This is a dynamic, busy job requiring a responsible, engaged person who responds quickly to requests and resolves problems. This individual will be based on-site at our customer location in Freeport, TX .

Responsibilities & Requirements: Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for oversight and management of a consigned inventory of 500+ items.

  • Resolve problems with the right level of initiative, collaboration, and perseverance to satisfy requests while following procedures. Help find alternative options for supplying unavailable products and services.

  • Provide frontline response to application engineers located at our customers’ sites, for emergency and standard procurement of material.

  • Conduct daily cycle counts, and investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies to ensure ongoing inventory accuracy.

  • Communicate status and issues with the operations, shipping/receiving, engineering, and customer service teams to support customer work schedule.

  • Monitor daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on material availability to ensure system accuracy and integrity.

  • Coordinate with local Quick Response Center to make sourcing decisions on a daily basis to ensure compliance to customer delivery expectations.

  • Communicate order status changes/acknowledgments for all Flowserve related orders.

  • Work with customer planning and maintenance teams to coordinate and gather repairable items for proper disposition.

  • Manage and control the on-site Inventory of mechanical seals for alliance customer sites.

  • Help oversee the lead time and repair time of Mechanical seals.

  • Help facilitate the logistics involved with removing inventory from customer sites.

  • Work with Flowserve on-site application engineers and sales engineers to handle customer initiatives

  • Assist in providing basic technical support in seal repair problems.

  • Participate in weekly/monthly reliability meetings and help maintain visibility of any stock or missing seals/stock item issues to the customer.

  • Work with the QRC(quick response center) to maintain QRC repair order cycle time goals by communicating inventory needs, providing appropriate documentation for usage and working with the customer to deliver used mechanical seals to the QRC for timely repair.

  • Work with on-site engineers and sales to help identify and remove obsolete inventory and make sure all active equipment is supported by the on-site inventory

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years relevant experience, such as materials or inventory management in industrial setting

  • Experience in positions requiring personal ownership to complete tasks, investigate problems, and resolve issues with minimal supervision

  • Good organizational skills to maintain electronic files and paper so that it current data is quickly accessible

  • Flexible, able to change priorities based on demands and maintain high-level professionalism

  • Communicates clearly for accuracy and understanding, and communicates professionally so as to have a positive impact on the customer and co-workers

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, with the mobility to open and unpack boxes, and shelf parts

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

  • Detail-oriented with a demonstrated track record of accurately pulling data, entering data, and creating reports

  • Mechanical aptitude to identify assemblies and individual components
