Role Summary:
QA Inspector - Manufacturing and Assemblies
The Quality Inspector will partner with manufacturing operations to provide outstanding customer service and quality inspections to meet customer shipment expectations in a Final Assembly Operation. The inspector is engaged throughout our production process, including receiving, manufacturing, and final inspection. You will interact with the Functional areas including Receiving, Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and Field Service/Repair to evaluate Failure trends, Product quality problems and quality issues based on business priorities decided and communicated by the site Production Supervisor. This is a wide-ranging role with a mix of regular and one-off tasks and duties, depending on the needs of the business. This role is also responsible for conducting and enforcing quality control activities by executing all supporting activities of measuring and improving quality as it relates to valve assemblies and test, and the sustainability of Flowserve products in accordance with the required internal and external quality and safety regulations.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Combination of Final Assembly Inspection with working knowledge of all machine shop environment.
Retrieval of drawings from various drawing/drafting systems.
Complete required reports and quality documents
Function as part of a quality team and interface with Quality Engineer
Conduct appearance and performance inspection on QC products according to quality standards and sampling plan and keep inspection records.
When the product is found to be unqualified, fill in the non-conformity report to inform the quality manager and relevant departments to take corrective measures.
Input inspection results into QC database. Parts appearance and, valve performance test, delivery inspection. Other assigned jobs
Assist quality assurance engineer in developing procedures, implementing quality plans, special reports,conduct capability studies and other special assignments to support quality improvement.
Complete inspections per Detailed Inspection Plans or Customer Plant Standards
Complete final inspections before customer delivery
Communicate and explain findings to others, create and process non-conforming material request (NCR) forms
Able to meet the QC department’s key performance metrics in terms of accuracy and speed of inspections, plus quality of reporting and of findings to other teams
Coordinate Product trainings for Assembly technicians, and teardown techs.
Coordinate workflow of the OV rack, including communications with planning/ purchasing/shipping.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years quality control or related experience
Capable of reading and interpreting mechanical machining and assembly drawings.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret bills of materials, parts lists, and material specifications.
Ability to review, analyze and disposition non-conforming material.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with and good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
High level of written, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift 40 pounds using proper lifting equipment and perform duties while standing for extended periods of time.
Other duties as directed by the inspection team lead or the Manager.
Work overtime when required. Possible extended workdays, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Control Valve and Actuator experience preferred, Valtek, Argus, and Kammer Product Lines a plus
Knowledge of Oracle ERP systems and ISO standards is preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Able to multitask and support the Quality Management System (QMS)
Able to work and communicate with all members of quality and manufacturing.
