Our innovative and growing company is looking to fill the role of additive manufacturing engineer. Responsibilities:

  • Support the whole process, products, applications and industrial engineering development for additive manufacturing processing (AM).

  • Interact and engage with multiple areas within the company (Engineering, Quality, Production, Commercial).

  • Optimize and standardize printing process, including designing, to reduce build time while ensuring machine repeatability and product quality and consistency.

  • Support cost estimation as necessary with processing times and setup requirements.

  • Work in compliance with safety regulations.

  • Analyze printability of additive parts according to capabilities and product requirements.

  • Create and prepare job files for printing operations, incorporating geometric compensation, support structure, machining stock allowance, GD&T required to produce products effectively at scale.

  • Support the definition, development and standardization of all the needed post-processing and finishing activities for achieving the product requirements.

  • Support root-cause analysis to troubleshoot printability issues for establishing strong corrective actions.

  • Support machine operators in solving operating issues and improvements, establishing best practices to operate the printing machines and ancillary machines.

  • Support Maintenance in drawing up routine and preventive maintenance plans.

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s is a plus) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

  • Knowledge of technical drawings (GD&T) and specifications.

  • Knowledge of AM technologies and materials (metal 3D printing is a plus).

  • Knowledge of mechanical technologies, post-processing and finishing.

  • Knowledge of 3D modeling software (SolidWorks is a plus).

  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma practices.

  • Good communication skills and an excellent command of spoken and written English (certified B2 level at least).

  • Italian fluent.

Preferred for the role:

  • Experience in metal AM technologies and materials.

  • Experience in designing for additive manufacturing (DfAM).

  • Experience with AM build file software (3DXpert is a plus).

  • Experience in modeling techniques, including CAD, Finite Element or other simulation tools.

  • Familiarity with Reverse Engineering.

  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.

  • Ideal candidate will be detail oriented, passionate about additive and related technologies and able to effectively use problem identification and solution skills.

  • Proven analytical and organizational ability, strong problem-solving skills and creative, outside the box thinker. Demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles.

Travels will be required.
