JOB DESCRIPTION:

The QRC On-Site Applications Engineer reports directly to the Quick Response Center Manager. Based on our facilities in Manchester, this position provides technical and troubleshooting support to our Customers, work on specific business initiatives, complete applications engineering tasks and is prepared to provide technical support on Customer site when needed. This is a role suitable for a professional that wants to develop or progress into the technical area of the rotating equipment industry.

Your Role:

  • Work on assigned tasks and projects with focus on rotating equipment management and reliability improvement concepts.

  • Work on technical and engineering tasks related to rapid response and standard change out orders, new products orders and repairs of mechanical seals and pumps, being able to interact and coordinate activities with different members of the team to assure Customer satisfaction.

  • Responsible for the close tolerance measurement of rotating equipment for seal upgrades and retrofits.

  • Perform investigations on failed products (mechanical seals and pumps), providing written and oral explanations to customer and assist with Root Cause Analysis.

  • Provide technical support to our sales force and customers to ensure proper seal and sealing system selection and successful operation of our products.

  • Provide technical support on commissioning and troubleshooting on seals and rotating equipment at Customer site.

  • Resolve non-conformance issues with respect to engineering and manufacturing standards and participate in Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP).

  • Assist on training customers as needed.

  • Support surveys at Customer site related to Flowserve and non-Flowserve assets, from an installation and performance standpoint.

  • Carry out reliability walkabouts and generate reports accordingly. Identify unhealthy pumps and seals where an action can avoid a potential repair.

  • Carry out inventory analysis to validate the quantity of the spare parts stored at customer premises.

Your Profile:

  • Engineering Degree or similar level qualification relevant for the working area.

  • Knowledge and experience in rotating equipment is essential.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Should be able to produce timely, accurate and concise written reports.

  • Must have an inquisitive mind set and be capable of rational analysis and problem solving.

  • Flexible, accurate, motivated, able to work independently and on own initiative.

  • Capable of handling stressful situations when meeting deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to meet both company and customer expectations on orders.

  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Products, MS Project, navigate in ERP system.
