As the Supplier Quality Specialist for electronics components, you will work as part of a globally distributed team to drive performance excellence from our supplier network through the deployment of the Flowserve Enterprise Supplier Performance Program.
Using a pre-defined set of audit criteria based on industry-accepted methodologies, you will evaluate and develop suppliers to ensure their performance and capabilities are optimized in accordance with Flowserve quality expectations.
This is a varied and busy role requiring regular domestic and international travel to Flowserve and Supplier sites.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Your role and workload will be dynamic and vary on a day-to-day basis, making every day interesting and challenging. You must be comfortable with change, ambiguity and changing priorities at short notice.
Generally, your overall function will include:
Perform global supplier validation audits, with Supplier Support and Flowserve Product Approval Process
Working as part of the Supplier QA group, you will contribute to the global supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risks
Work with global team to perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions of supplier quality issues
Provide concise, complete, and accurate documentation of inspection results relative to area of responsibility
Support new product introduction to ensure that supplier quality meets the required standards
Work with your suppliers to help and guide them through the qualification and certification process for the parts they supply to us.
Where necessary, escalate any unresolved supplier quality issues within assigned projects and suppliers
Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:
Minimum 7 years’ experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, or similar field
Electronics process knowledge, pick and place machines (SMT-Reflow), Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI), Through Hole Technology, Functional tests, Electronic Repairs and Soldering
Experience of using Audit Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Programs, Product Preservation and Traceability
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma concepts
Working knowledge of Metrology, Inspection Methods and Equipment
Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
Strong communication and project coordination skills to manage multiple activities and stakeholders
Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes, procedures, facilities, and equipment
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or other related technical field
Within the framework of COVID-related travel restrictions, you must be able to travel domestically and internationally on a frequent / extended basis.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Masters degree in engineering, supply chain, or other related field
Preferred trained or certified under IPC-A-610 and J-Standard -001 and/or other IPC and JTD series, knowledge of electronics CE, UL, IEC markings requirements
History of identifying and resolving quality and delivery issues, including part containment, risk assessment, utilization of formal quality RC-CA tools and processes.
Capability to inspect, verify parts and processes (1st piece, source inspection, material certs, First Articles Inspection)
