Position Description:

New Product Development Engineer interns will help support on all aspects of new product development efforts by assisting team members in areas including custom-engineered seal developments, technology development projects, writing work instructions, preparing project schedules and hands-on testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within project teams to design and produce new products, developing new technologies or custom engineering new mechanical seal designs. These efforts include:

  • Development and implementation of project schedules for the technical phases

  • Develop conceptual designs

  • Design analysis calculations to support mechanical seal design efforts including use of FEA, self-developed computer algorithms, and hand calculations

  • Development and implementation of test programs

  • Writing documents such as product development design capabilities with product line engineering standards, and application guidelines

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a B.S. degree in an engineering discipline or similar technical degree

  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills

  • Ability to apply engineering analysis tools including FEA

  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment

  • Ability to work without close supervision and accomplish assignments of high quality and on time

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of 2D and 3D drafting and modeling with preference for Solidworks experience
