Reporting to the Senior Manager, Domestic Tax Operations, this position will be responsible for income tax compliance, income tax provision, process improvements, research, and planning for a US-based multi-national corporation.
Responsibilities:
Preparation and review of federal income tax returns including the preparation of more complex tax adjustments and other miscellaneous tax filings
Preparation and review of state income tax returns including apportionment, extensions, and estimated payments
Preparation and review of quarterly federal and state ASC 740 calculations as well as foreign tax packages
Collaborate with Finance team to manage roll forward of fixed assets, including additions, disposals, and tax depreciation
Identify and lead process improvement initiatives that streamline tax processes and work papers to facilitate review and audit support
Maintain tax return filing calendar to ensure returns are filed timely
Coordinate and communicate with U.S. and foreign Finance teams with respect to tax reporting, compliance, and audit matters
Develop solid expertise in Flowserve’s accounting policies, practices, and systems
Assist with special tax planning and compliance projects, as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting with CPA or equivalent experience
5+ years of relevant, progressive experience in federal and state taxation and compliance in a large multinational company; early big 4 firm experience a benefit
Tax research skills including proficiency in CCH, RIA, and/or BNA research software
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, particularly advanced Excel
Ability to take initiative, work independently and effectively under pressure, and manage deadlines.
Must be a well-organized, hands on, detail oriented team-player with good communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with SharePoint, SAP BPC, Oracle ERP, BNA Fixed Assets a plus
Experience with CorpTax compliance software preferred
ASC 740 experience a plus
