POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Product Quality Manager, Positioners is globally responsible for managing the Positioners product line for Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
This role will work closely with New Product development, Design, Product engineering and operations to ensure design and manufacturing processes for Positioners are fully managed in accordance to world class Product and Processes Quality at all functions.
This is a Hybrid Role at Flowserve World Headquarters with 30 - 40% travel to: Springville Utah, China, Sweden, Eastern Europe.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Has accountability and ownership for the Product Quality of the overall positioner business
Closely collaborate with New Product Development and Design team to provide key input to the Design and Processes FMEA process
Support Manufacturing Engineering for both new developed and launched products to embed Product Quality into Operations
Develops, implements and enforce Quality Processes with relevant policies and practices related to positioners at manufacturing Plants
Ensures consistency across sites for all processes related to Product Manufacturing. (Supply Chain, Assembly, end-of-line testing, SPC, continuous testing)
Defines along with Design team the product validation testing requirements and acceptance criteria (HALT/HASS testing, test to failure etc…)
Develops best practices for Product Quality Control at manufacturing plants such has, Quality Assurance Plans, Quality Control Plans, incoming inspection, in-process inspections, final inspection.
Defines for QC, Manufacturing and suppliers, in collaboration with Engineering and Operations, the proper measurements tools, methods, criteria, Calibration plan, Calibration process controls, Gage R&R, operators training.
Defines and leads the qualification of Manufacturing, Service sites, Distribution Centers, Distributors and any other entity habilitated to repair/adjust positioners (manufacturing and measuring equipment, site certifications, people skills and competences).
Owns and manages the Customer complaint process for Positioners delivering a world class Customer Experience by:
ensuring complaints are logged into the Company System
ensuring open complaints are managed according to the resolution plan timely
coordinating resolution activities across the organization
driving to resolution to achieve fast response to Customers
Identifies Product Quality trends and works with relevant functions within the organization to permanently eliminate root causes and continuously improve
Works and coordinates with the Supplier Quality organization to set and perform PPAPs for new parts, to identify Supplier Corrective Actions needs, to improve supplier performances as needed, to develop Suppliers
Defines Product performance levels, and relevant KPIs
Defines a Product and Process audit plan at all relevant functions and manufacturing sites to verify:
Product conformity to established requirement.
effectiveness and sustainability of Processes, including when improvement actions implemented.
MAIN OBJECTIVES
Ensure Product Quality is embedded in all processes for new products development, critical design/manufacturing changes, Product Manufacturing and identified systemic and/or critical Product Complaints
Achieve high standards, above industry, of Product Quality
Standardize Quality requirements and processes for Positioners globally.
Manage Customer Complaints exceeding Customers expectations.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
Engineering degree
10 years Quality experience including Quality Management and Product Quality
Expert in Product and Process risk assessment and mitigation (DFMEA, PFMEA)
Solid background on high volume production industries (i.e. automotive, consumer electronics….)
Ability to influence, communicate, and collaborate at all organizational levels
Solid leadership skills in communicating, leading and mentoring cross-functional teams
Travel: 30-40%, domestic and international
