Summary:
Flowserve is looking for an Azure PaaS Solutions Architect that will play a key role in architecting and deploying serverless PaaS solutions.
Responsibilities:
Provide Architectural Review and Guidance as part of Enterprise Architecture Governance processes focused on application modernization and transitioning to cloud native platforms and solutions.
Lead technical and design discussions with application teams to accelerate adoption of new technologies and practices as a standard, repeatable process in the cloud.
Architect and build highly scalable, cloud-native deployments on multiple cloud platforms and in alignment with Cloud Governance standards and procedures.
Advises IT Managers and Application teams about the implications of planned activities and implementations.
Use analysis from staff and partners to develop long-term solutions
Take responsibility for testing and proving the viability of new technologies before implementation.
Oversees technical and financial aspects of large, enterprise-level implementations by staff and partners.
Identify opportunities for maximizing business value through the use of Cloud services.
Provide key oversight and guidance in creating and maintaining standard operating procedures and business process improvement
Conduct training and cross-training of less senior and cross-functional teams as required, and lead in the development of training materials.
Appropriately communicate with partners, cross-functional teams, and across all levels of the organization as required.
Through functional escalation and partner interaction perform incident response in accordance with standard operating procedures and SLAs.
Maintain subject-matter expertise through continuous self-directed and documented development activities.
Attend/Lead regular coordination calls as required.
Requirements:
BS level technical degree or equivalent professional or military experience.
8+ years of design, hands-on implementation, experience with distributed applications or systems architecture.
5+ years of experience in application/infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking.
Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies and hands-on development experience.
Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
Excellent communication skills with an ability to ‘right-level’ conversations.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
Experience migrating or transforming legacy solutions to the cloud (refactoring/modernization).
Exposure to Agile software development and DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration and automated deployment experience, particularly with bicep templates, CI/CD Pipelines, and orchestration of Azure PaaS solutions.
We are currently unable to sponsor or support visa applications.
The ideal candidate is located in either Houston or Dallas, TX, and is comfortable working on a hybrid mode.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
Computer Science or Engineering background with Cloud related certifications.
8 + years of solution development and deployment, with recent experience in Azure that includes.
Automating deployments with ARM or Bicep Templates.
Developing custom IAM Roles, and RBAC templates in support of least privileged access.
Developing, deploying, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines including use of Azure container registry.
Azure App Services (Static, Web, Linux), Logic Apps, Function Apps
PaaS services including Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Redis Cache, API Management, Azure Service Bus, Azure Data Factory, Container Apps, Log Analytics.
Demonstrated success as solution architect, or consultant engaged in active deployments and cloud migrations.
Designing and building applications using Container and serverless technologies.
Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability and high availability.
Experience administering IaC (infrastructure as code) or container orchestration through common tools such as terraform, chef, puppet, etc.
Familiarity with common enterprise services (Directory Services, Information Assurance, Virtual Desktop, etc.), products (i.e., Oracle, SAP) and frameworks (ITIL, TOGAF, etc.).
Continuous Integration (CI) tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc).
Experience with configuration management or orchestration platforms (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible).
Developing Standard Operating Procedures, diagramming solutions, developing reusable governance documents.
