Role Summary:

Be part of the front-end innovation team to actively monitor market, business, and technology trends, scout emerging technologies, explore partnerships, and work closely with key functions within Flowserve (e.g., strategic business management, product development, engineering and manufacturing, sales/marketing) to identify and shape the development of value-creating innovations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging technologies, innovation opportunities, trends, relevant to our industry and business needs. Collect feedback from cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technology strategy, roadmap, and scouting initiatives.

  • Work closely with Strategic Business Management teams to collect, organize and make sense of the market, business and technology trends that will shape the acceptance and practicality of new products, services, and business models.

  • Synthesize and clarify competitive opportunities to establish the most effective starting point for innovation.

  • Assess various options of new product/solution concepts through rapid proof of concept and design thinking projects.

  • Support the proposal development on potential investment in technology development and/or partnership, as well as potential technology acquisition.

  • Participate in regular reviews with business leaders across the organization and share the latest update on the innovation funnel to support business growth.

  • Follow latest innovation in technology and trends to build the consolidated trend watch and share best practices with internal community.

  • Build and maintain a robust network of industry contacts, technology vendors, startups, and academic institutions to identify potential partnerships and collaboration opportunities.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.

  • Reasonable years of experience in technology and innovation, with a strong interest in exploring advanced technology for potential commercialization.

  • Experience in technology scouting within the industrial engineering or energy sectors, with a track record of identifying and developing technology partnerships.

  • Experience in research and innovation activities, with design thinking considered an asset.

  • Experience in developing and commercializing new products or solutions enabled by differentiating technologies and go-to-market strategies.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation with attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and businesses.

  • Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Ability to apply a methodical approach to complex information, synthesizing opportunities that lead to potential new product/solution concepts.

  • Proven ability to maintain and expand effective networks for partnership and collaboration opportunities.
