The Supply Chain Strategy Lead role is focused on supporting core Flowserve programs aligned to the company’s growth and profitability. The role is focused on ensuring that the supply chain function, including suppliers, can support meeting the medium to long term strategic needs of Flowserve.
The role will be a part of a cross functional team and take the lead with regards to providing Supply Chain inputs, elements and actions in support of the various programs and initiatives.
In this role the individual will work closely with M&T (Marketing and Technology) Engineering, Product Management, Sourcing, Category Management and other Supply Chain functions across Flowserve.
Actively participate, manage or lead Flowserve Supply Chain strategic initiatives related to DtV (design to value), globalization, localization, market or growth initiatives.
Developing and maintaining detailed Project Charters that are clearly bounded in time, scope, and cost, for each initiative.
Create a Supply Chain deployment framework tailored to specific initiatives ensuring that the results obtained meet the expected objectives.
Assess project risks and monitor deployment progress against project schedule. Coordinate resources with other functions to mitigate risk as required.
Liaise between Product Management, M&T and the Global Supply Chain teams, ensuring the optimized use of functional resources and strategy alignment across Platforms, Product or Regions.
Partner with the Category Managers to develop a plan that incorporates the specific supply chain objectives and materials flow details to project availability in support of medium- and long-term goals
Drive adoption of TCO (total cost of ownership) in the sourcing process by incorporating elements such as supplier selection, logistics, PWC (primary working capital), contract negotiations, risk management, and performance management.
Support, drive and coordinate supply chain activity with respect to the Flowserve Strategic initiatives, including Supply Chain analytics, design and planning.
Takes ownership of complex problems and balances functional interests and priorities, under pressure and timelines.
Balances allocation of resources and SME (subject matter experts) for assigned projects
Incorporates other platforms strategies and product developments plans
Incorporates Supplier Technology Partnerships
7 years or more of experience in a similar role in a global and/or manufacturing company
Bachelor's Degree in Business (Supply Chain Management preferred) or Engineering
Manufacturing, Aerospace, Engineering, or related business experience
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines
Professional experience with complex supply chain, project management
Proficiency in Project Management
Willingness to travel domestic and international (occasional up to 15%)
Proven experience with new product development cycle, new product introduction and global supply chain
Very good command on both commercial and technical areas of supply chain
Exceptional ability to create structured frameworks, analyze large sets of data, develop and communicate recommendations to others in simple terms
Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation
Strong communication and collaboration
Strategic thinker with ability to see beyond the here and now
Outstanding analytical skills
Understanding of market dynamics
