Our Hastings, NE pump manufacturing facility is seeking a Quality Engineer. The Quality Engineer will develop, implement and conduct quality control programs and procedures to assure product and material quality. He/ She will assist with the coordination, compilation, and analysis of test and inspection reports.
Responsibilities & Requirements: RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Quality Manager in the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality systems and procedures
Develop and assist with measurement methodology and sampling
Maintain and analyze data to provide information or identify problems for management and stakeholders on the state of a process or product quality
Provide quality support to functional processes needed from the point of order through delivery, including order entry, design, product development, purchasing, manufacturing, test, and ship.
Serve on the Material Review Board to identify and resolve product quality issues
Work with Quality Manager to develop quality audit and improvement plans
Develop and maintain ISO9001 QMS processes
Assist in the resolution of customer complaints and requests.
Identify areas for improvement (internal, external, supplier) and develop quality improvement programs utilizing quality tools and statistical techniques.
Monitor and perform auditing functions to assure compliance with systems and procedures.
Develop quality inspection plans to ensure customer purchase orders and contract requirements are met.
Audit documents (Bill of Materials, Routers, Work Instructions, etc) to ensure contractual compliance.
Additional related duties deemed appropriate by the manager
Demonstrate knowledge of quality standards and quality systems such as ISO 9001
Implement quality tools and methodologies, such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, 5 WHY’s, process flow, etc.
Interpret technical drawings and standards with the ability to communicate these requirements, with a good understanding of GD&T
Make data-driven decisions
Use data analysis to improve KPI performance.
Coach others in data analysis
Provide input and guidance to the site leadership team to ensure continuous improvement.
Communicate effectively in both verbal and written form with a wide variety of customers including both internal and external to Flowserve.
Communicate effectively with associates at all levels, from the factory floor to executives at Flowserve and Customers.
Embrace and drive accountability and performance-based culture focused on quality excellence.
Interact with the functional areas including manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, production, and project management
Multitask and work in a production environment that has multiple product changeovers milestones.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Quality Engineering
5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Lean Practitioner or Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
Lead Auditor in Quality Systems Course or equivalent
Quality Management Systems and/or ISO 9000 Training or equivalent
