Job Summary

This position is responsible for safety, health and environmental programs and their related activities. The Safety Representative will ensure compliance with all established HSE programs and maintain compliance with location and our Global Flowserve standards.

Your role

  • You will actively manage environmental, health, and safety activities for the Flowserve Campus, with strong communication, motivation and direction of safety committee 

  • You conduct a rigorous incident investigation process focused on, prevention, root cause analysis and injury prevention leading indicators 

  • Coordinate safety training for all employees in the areas of Safety Health & Environmental matters 

  • Serve as co-chair on the Joint Health and Safety Committee and help to coordinate activities, recommendations, and accountability of issues identified by the Safety regulations and Flowserve corporate audits 

  • Develop and administer New Hire Orientation Safety Training for onboarding

  • Investigate and maintain records for all work-related injuries and/or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, and assist department management in the development of effective health and safety countermeasures to continuously improve safety objectives 

  • Conduct monthly workplace safety audits and establish measurable standards from which further recommendations (continuous improvement) can be made, with effective follow-up.

  • You will present your findings and analyses in the management team meetings

  • Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures, training, and practice drills 

  • Ensure all environmental reports are submitted accurately and on time pertaining air, storm water and sanitary sewer discharge permits 

  • You play an active role in safety committees, e.g. Hydro-test Committee or BHV

Your profile

  • You hold a BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 0-2 years relevant experience

  • Experience within Health, Safety and Environmental (university) projects

  • Work experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage to understand the dangers of mechanical production machinery in relation to risk assessment.

  • Experience with compliance audits and documentation 

  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Strong oral, written and organizational skills in Dutch and English

  • Exceptional computer skills, MS office, Adobe
