As a Quality Engineer, you will support the mechanical seal and seal auxiliary systems group.
You will work close tighter with the project managers, Buyers and System Engineers with the creation, execution and compliance with quality requirements. Perform timely final inspection of complete sealing systems and related documentation at suppliers both physically at supplier site and through self-inspection by supplier. Draw up quality plans and Data Books for inhouse system assembly’s and Nuclear Seals.
This position involves the translation of customer specifications and industry standards into product / process criteria and creating control plans to achieve those requirements.
You’ll also address the day-to-day issues with production quality within the Flowserve manufacturing plant, at customer sites and supplier facilities.
Continuous improvement of quality of system suppliers though the use of corrective and preventive actions (such as quality audits).
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Join project kick off meetings with Project management and engineering in order to plan and execute inbound and production checks.
Assessment and documentation of quality requirements at order acquisition (including inspection test plans). This includes the support of the creation and fulfillment of procedures regarding quality requirements e.g. non-destructive testing, material testing, welding requirements, legal and market requirements. (PED, CUTR, U-Stamp)
Manage relations with suppliers, customers or third-party inspectors
Participate in external supplier quality testing and audits
Identification of, initiation of and participation in improvement projects based on daily business and audits. Participate in Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) events
Register non-conformities, coordinate and support the resolution of any non-conformities and quality complaints in a timely and cost-effective manner such that quality at supplier is guaranteed.
Perform witness inspections at supplier facilities.
Inspect incoming material for dimensional, visual, and material specifications.
Maintain and analyses data to provide information or identify problems for management and stakeholders on the state of a process or product quality.
Create awareness in the Leadership community regarding what opportunities have been discovered or developed and how to realize them.
Collaborate within the QA/QC department or other company departments to clarify / resolve issues techniques related to QA/QC activities.
Inspection and creation of manufacturing data books, certificates and quality related documents.
Review and inspect project specific customer approval procedures and work instructions.
Support supply chain department with the selection of new suppliers.
Reduce the number or non-conformities at suppliers and manage customer complaints to a minimum.

Experience in quality control department.
Understanding of product / process flow
Strong organizational skills, Assertive and self-motivated; able to be effective with minimal supervision
Experience and competence with MS Office products; ERP systems, and other analysis software tools (SAP, Windchill)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Dutch & English.
Willing to travel towards suppliers and customers.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Affinity/experience with mechanical technique both practical as theoretical and willing to specialize by education.
