For our German operations we are immediately looking for a Sales Engineer (M/F/T) . This position is responsible for direct sales for both seals and systems for selected accounts in Southern German, Northern Austria and Eastern European Area - Poland and Czechia through OEM factories, Sales Offices and EPCs with approximately 50% travel. The role would be home based , with visits to our Dortmund office.

Responsibilities :

  • Establish and maintain high level relationships with key OEM customers for pumps, mixers and specialty rotary machinery at both OEM manufacturers and OEM sales offices

  • Successfully manage strategic planning and assist in coordinating OEM/Project Seals sales at both regional and international levels

  • Work with marketing to establish Flowserve Seals as a leader in pumps, agitators and other specialty rotating equipment through advertising, technical articles and regional trade shows

  • Support in high-level troubleshooting with important customers and clarification of contractual matters, e.g. regarding terms and conditions and collecting late payments

  • Produce high quality and timely monthly reports as required

  • Collecting data about market prices and the positioning of competitors and incorporating them into the strategic planning process


  • Knowledge of conducting business with OEM’s, EPC and HQ sales

  • Marketing expertise including the ability to develop territory marketing plans and strategic objectives to exceed team goals/objectives

  • Preferably, knowledge of mechanical seals, rotating equipment and application processes in key industrial markets.

  • Ability to negotiate commercially in the best interest of the company

  • Strong entrepreneurial skills to effectively promote company products and services.

  • Effectively organize and ensure regular communication & visits are met with key customers in designated territory.

  • Ability to work independently and driven by goals and objectives.

  • Ability to identify and to develop new OEM/EPC/HQ customers

  • Mandatory to be based in Southern Germany

Preferred experience:

  • Some experience with seals, rotating equipment and related systems is preferred.

  • BSME or equivalent technical degree, background in sales and marketing or commensurate industry experience with a proven track record of success

  • Excellent organizational skills required to manage multiple tasks.

  • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Good Level of English written and spoken (85%-90%) mandatory.

  • Good Level of German (85%-90%) mandatory.

  • Other languages could represent an advantage

  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
