Role Summary:

The role will report into the Central Project Engineering team. The position to be based in Dalian Quick Response Centre (QRC) China. The shortlisted candidate is to provide engineering support such as technical interpretation of 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, Manufacturing specifications & procedures to the QRC and external suppliers for all parts manufacturing activities to ensure quality and equipment reliability. Other responsibilities may be added based on business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Implements engineering best practices and Flowserve standards such as machining and weld procedures

• Review manufacturing specifications & standards provided by global internal requesters, and identifies gaps if any

• Act as engineering liaison between Dalian QRC, Local Suppliers & Global Internal Requesters

• Review 3D models before sending it for manufacturing, to ensure the models are fit for manufacturing

• Work with requesters & Gtec on 3D model creation of casting parts for manufacturing and review them, before releasing it for production

• Address supplier technical questions timely manner by collaborating with relevant engineering teams

• Work with other Engineers/Business Units to promptly investigate & resolve shop floor problems; related to design or quality issues.

• Support QRC concerning all engineering issues including but not limited to NCR disposition, supporting machinists and supporting shop mechanics during assembly.

• Support pump performance testing as needed

• Develop personal skills through regular attendance to a selection of technical training modules

• Position will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned based on business needs.

Role Requirements:

Must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent and/or 2-5 years related experience

• Good command of English and Mandarin

• Proficient in SolidWorks/Similar CAD tools and be able to model complex cast parts

• Possess various machining knowledge and able to interpret manufacturing drawings

• Good knowledge on drawing tolerances and GD&T

• Able to read and interpret Bill of Materials (BoMs)

• Conversant with industrial processes, with eagerness and ability to develop technical skills.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills, team player with strong initiative and “can-do” attitude.

• Must have motivational skills, multi-disciplinary attitude with a sense of urgency.

Good to Have

• Basic knowledge of centrifugal pump parts

• Good knowledge in various Casting processes

• Welding knowledge

• Pump performance testing knowledge

• Proficient in scanning technology and using precision measurement instruments

• Flexibility, available to travel when/where required, international-minded person.
