Role Summary:
Join the Flowserve Cookeville team in the role of Material Handler. This site is a part of the Flow Control Division (Valves). The Ideal Candidate will be experienced in loading and unloading of trucks, packaging and unpackaging of materials, assist in stocking and pulling parts from storage, all while providing exemplary service to internal and external customers. You will also record incoming product with RF scanner and computer software. This role may also be required to operate a forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds in and around the facility.
Responsibilities:
Unload incoming shipments.
Perform verification of bill of lading and packing list, unpack incoming shipments.
Accurately record and store materials received.
Ensure system (ERP) receipt of materials within 24 hours.
Properly handle all document filing and archiving requirements.
Operate stand up forklift to move and store materials.
Pick parts for assembly according to the order.
Follow warehouse processes and maintain cleanliness. Implement 6S method.
Cycle Counts
Adhere to Flowserve safety standards.
Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Willing to work overtime, including weekends and evenings.
Physically capable of standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, and bending for extended periods.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally buddy lift more than 100 pounds.
Possess strong visual abilities, including color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Capable of multitasking in a production environment with frequent changeovers.
Willing to learn and cross-train in different functions.
Understand "the language of logistics" and have good communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Previous related material handling and forklift experience.
Familiarity / working knowledge of ERP systems.
Have strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
Have a keen attention to detail.
HS Diploma / GED and / or 3-5 years relevant experience
Preferred:
Forklift certified
Previous experience picking parts for assembly
Previous experience with Oracle
Previous experience with cycle counts.
