Role Summary:

Seeking an Engineering Document Control Clerk to work closely with external/internal customers at our Chesapeake Virginia site. Ensures all incoming Engineering/Supplier documentation is provided in time to meet the contractual delivery date of customers. Position will require the capability to receive, manage, and control incoming documents and drawings into a company database program. Expediting and working with engineering drawings and documents will enhance our engineering capabilities.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Create and maintain project related documents including engineering drawings, manuals and submittal packages. Receive, log-in, track, and disseminate project documentation to all involved parties, to include submission and retrieval to and from ftp sites

  • Standardize documentation packages by maintaining existing library, creating new form templates as needed, and keeping a consistent look/layout across the various product lines.

  • Provide documentation support to Project Management by pro-actively managing project documentation, to include 1st submittal, second submittal, and final documentation

  • Data Entry/Processing into a company database/Documentation Tracking System

  • Project documentation, data processing

  • Submitting customer/supplier documentation via email, or customer websites

  • Office duties (scanning, copying, electronic media)

  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned records

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required


  • High school diploma or equivalen

  • 2+ years of similar experience

  • General proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel & Word

  • Strong attention to detail, conscientious and thorough

  • Ability to articulate clearly (phone, in person, email, etc.) and relay requests efficiently

  • Must be self-motivated, accurate, focused, and willing to learn

  • Ability to work independently

Preferred Experience / Skills:


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree

  • Familiarity with Flowserve products
