Role Summary:
A machine operator will maintain and operate a variety of machines and equipment, including hand tools, to perform routine tasks. This position is also responsible for the setup, visual inspection and configuration of machines and equipment within expected quality and safety guidelines. Machines and equipment may be manual or computerized.
Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain machines and equipment
Will use hand tools.
Move materials and parts to and from work areas via electric forklifts and lift trucks.
Ensure smooth flow of production.
Involved in the resolution of production and technological problems.
Comply with established guidelines and procedures.
Adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Technologist or technician degree in Industrial Mechanics and 5-7 years of relevant experience.
Experience in machining or similar field.
Experience in the use and interpretation of precision measuring instruments.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions.
Basic store math skills.
Ability to read and follow routings / blueprints.
Ability to train new machine operators.
High level of organizational skills.
Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, construction or related environment.
Works well in a team environment.
Able to stand for long periods, repetitive arm movements, frequent lifting with ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Forklift certified.
Self-motivated.
