Job summary:

As an On-Site Application Engineer, you will provide technical support to Flowserve’s Lifecycle Advantage (LCA) contracts at our clients’ location in the Stade region of Germany; 10km from our Agathenburg Quick Response Centre where you will normally be based. As part of the team in the Quick Response Centre, your duties will include ensuring the equipment performance at the site, supporting, monitoring, and executing the daily requirements of the site operations as defined in the contract. The purpose of this role is to use your existing engineering skills to support the objectives of Flowserve and the Client into a sustainable long-term contractual relationship focused on improving the performance of a customer's assets. Whilst not usually a hands-on role, there may be some requirement to conduct technical inspections of failed equipment to provide engineered solutions and improvements to enhance equipment reliability and availability.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of sealing solutions to meet customer needs and improve mechanical seal performance and reliability.

  • Act as the primary source of information regarding the design, application, installation, and operation of mechanical seals.

  • Support the MOC (Management of Change) process with all required documentation.

  • Carry out reliability walkabouts and generate reports accordingly.

  • Perform mechanical seal failure analysis and produce reports accordingly.

  • Conduct technical analysis and problem solving on pump and seal systems operating in Customer sites.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent, and 3+ years relevant industry experience as an Applications Engineer and/or Rotating Equipment Engineer.

  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail with an experienced mechanical aptitude.

  • Able to communicate openly with Clients and Colleagues and be self-confident to think and work independently and use initiative as required.

  • Understanding of methods to drive and improve KPI’s and maintain records and scorecard systems using available information.

  • German speaking with a high standard of written and spoken English.

  • Understanding of MRP / ERP systems and good PC skills with experience of Microsoft Office tools. Training provided on MRP / ERP as required.
